  • President’s Cabinet develops and recommends preliminary budget formulation criteria to the president.
  • November
  • President reviews preliminary budget formulation criteria with University Council
  • President presents budget formulation criteria to the Finance and Investment Committee and the Board of Trustees
  • Deans submit graduate enrollment projections to the provost.
  • Vice president of enrollment services develops undergraduate enrollment projections
  • President issues budget call to the President’s Cabinet.
  • December
  • Provost and vice president of finance and treasurer hold university-wide meeting to discuss formulation of the budget
  • Faculty Senate reviews and recommends instructional budget to the provost
  • Budget Office submits summary of budget proposals to the president
  • January 
  • President’s Cabinet submits two-year budget proposal to the president
  • President reviews Cabinet budget proposal with the University Council
  • President makes final decision on two-year budget
  • February
  • President presents proposed two-year budget to the Finance and Investment Committee and the Board of Trustees
  • Board of Trustees reviews and adopts the two-year budget.
  • March
  • President issues FY 2004-FY2005 budget summary to campus
  • Units submit revised budgets to the provost and vice presidents in light of new budget allocations.
  • April
  • Budget Office distributes line-item budgets to units for the new budget year, which begins May 1
