(UA) – Jerry Gager
School of International Service (SIS):
Construction of the garage structure and the concrete
stair towers is complete. There
will be a power outage during the early morning
of Monday, June 15 to connect power to the building.
Steel has started, precast is expected to
begin in late July, and late October for a weather
tight building. Completion date is May 2010.
Kogod Building Expansion – New Lecture
Hall: Site construction began
February 25 and is expected to be generally complete
in June. After a public space permit
is received for the walkway to Massachusetts Avenue
that will be poured. Lights and benches
will be installed upon delivery later in the summer.
Bender Library Furniture and Remodeling:
OUA is working with the Library staff to develop
a series of improvement projects that will enhance
the library, including the rearrangement of the
first floor seating and stacks the digital media
area and other spaces on the lower level.
Exterior Signs: A project
has begun to review the program and needs for
exterior signs. A photographic inventory
of all exterior signs is almost complete.
Input from the Administrative Operations Project
Team and other campus constituent groups will
be needed this spring.
Kreeger Building Remodeling:
The design of the interior remodeling to
accommodate the Department of Economics is nearly
complete. The basic building systems and
exterior envelope will undergo needed repairs.
Construction is expected to begin in early July
and be complete by March 2010. The Roper
building will be converted to student housing
with construction beginning in March 2010 and
ready for occupancy in August 2010.
Katzen Welcome Center:
The first phase of the relocation of the Admissions
Green Room at the Katzen Arts Center is complete.
Garage improvements and signs are in planning.
McKinley (Rooms 155 and 209):
OUA is working with the Career Center staff to
develop a plan to move the Office of Merit Awards
to 209 McKinley. Remodeling is expected
to be complete in August.
Nebraska Hall Showers: Plastic
shower walls are being replaced with ceramic tile
on cement backer board with a waterproof membrane.
The project is being phased and is expected
to be complete in late July.
