Welcome to Central Plant Operations at American
University! Together, we make up one unit of Physical
Plant Operations under the Facility Administration
Services Department.
Chief Operating Engineer, Juan Allen leads a diverse
team of Stationary Engineers that produce steam,
heating hot water and chilled water utilities
for the university. Engineers are located in the
Asbury building’s main plant 24 hours a
day, 365 days a year. The Central Plant Operations
Team also provides water treatment services for
the Sports and Convocation Center Natatorium.
